In collaboration with the Executive Director, will have oversight and responsibility for overall operations of Day Services and Outreach Programs. Under the direction of the Executive Director of the organization, this person will be responsible for carrying out the implementation of operations, policies, budget oversight, and supervision of all assigned programs intended to improve the general welfare of all developmentally disabled individuals and others with associated conditions. The Deputy ED will support the ED with strategic priorities, and lead activities related to the execution and implementation of a broad agenda. The Deputy ED will approach the work with a cross-functional (department, organization and community) mindset and will assume primary responsibility for select projects and initiatives as directed. The Deputy ED serves as a trusted senior advisor to the CEO and acts in his place, as appropriate, including representing him in high-level meetings and discussions. The Deputy ED is also responsible for building and sustaining an effective support structure for The Arc's leadership team.  This is an exempt position reporting to the Executive Director.



Position prefers a Master's Degree in Human Services, education, business, or associated field, and five (5) years of administrative experience with documented increasing levels of responsibility required.  Knowledge of the field of developmental disabilities and applicable state and federal regulations also required.
