We still need to hire 26 new staff before the end of the year to fill various openings! Our Next Hiring Event will be November 19, 2019, from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, at our offices on 820 Florida Ave, Hagerstown, MD! People who  are offered a position during this event, will be able to start as early as December 9, 2019 and this training will be over before Christmas! If you can't start then, our next class begins January 6, 2020.

Description: 

These caregiver career opportunities will provide support to individuals with disabilities to live/work as independently as possible in a variety of settings, by assisting them in developing new skills to reach their goals. We have openings: in our Children's and Adult Residential Programs, that include openings for CNA's; and in community based Outreach and  Personal Support Program.

These positions work as part of a team of staff who will continually assess and meet the needs of the persons served. We have Full Time, and Part time positions available with work hours primarily afternoons into evenings, and weekend hours. Overnights (including sleep overnights) shifts are also available!

Pay rates for these positions ranges from $12.00 - $12.61 per hour for awake time and $10.10 per hour for sleep time. Please note that positions on the upper end of this scale may require some previous experience.

Qualifications:

Depending on the exact position, a High School Diploma/GED is preferred or required. Most of these are entry-level positions with no experience required. However, some do require one year of working with developmental disabilities or a similar population. Must be 18 (21 For Children's Program) years old or older, have a valid driver's license along with two (2) years of driving experience, and a good driving history.

The successful candidate must be able to attend our two weeks and three days of paid specialized training (held M-F 8:30 am 5:00 pm). Applicants also need to pass a reading comprehension and math test, a background check, and pre-employment screenings which include a drug screen and physical/fitness test. Position requires lifting and transferring (at least 50 pounds), and the ability to provide direct care and implement proper restraint techniques to ensure the health and safety of the persons served.
