Description: 

The Children's Residential Program at The Arc currently serves children and young adults, primarily between the ages of 16 and 20, in five residential settings offering both high intensity services and a program model which prepares older adolescents for independent living. Staff would provide support to our children in a home-like setting, using a program tailored to each individual's particular disability/challenge. 

Starting pay for entry level positions in our Children's program is $11.43per hour. For those who have some related experience it may be possible to start out at a higher pay level. We have both FT and PT positions available. However, this position currently only has Third Shift work available. These schedules are typically 10 or 11 pm to 8 - 10 am the next day M-F (usually just 3 weekdays) and 1 Weekend day for FT Staff.

Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED required. This entry-level position requires no experience although one year of working with developmental disabilities or a similar population is preferred. Must also be 21 years old or older, and have a valid driver's license along with two (2) years of driving experience and good driving history. The successful candidate will also need to pass a reading comprehension and math test, background check, pre-employ. screenings including drug screen. Must also be able to become certified as a Residential Child and Youth Care Practitioner in the State of MD. Position requires lifting, transferring, and the ability to provide direct care and implement proper restraint techniques to ensure persons served health and safety. 2 wks. paid specialized training (Held M-F 8:30 am 5:00 pm), competitive benefits & tuition reimbursement offered.
