Description:

The role of the Direct Support Professional Staff is to support individuals with disabilities, in a variety of settings, to live/work as independently as possible, reach their personal goals, develop skills and become members of their chosen communities. Types of support may include, but are not limited to: support in community settings, personal care, support with health and wellness, and supporting people to gain and maintain integrated community employment, based on their unique interests, talents and abilities; and other meaningful activities. Current openings are in the Vocational and Community Day Program which pays $12.00 per hour, with a work schedule of M-F 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. 

Requirements: 

This entry-level position requires no experience, although one year of working with developmental disabilities or a similar population preferred. High School Diploma/GED required. Must also be 18 years old or older, and have a valid driver's license along with two (2) years of driving experience and good driving history. The successful candidate will also need to pass a reading comprehension and math test, background check, pre-employment screenings including drug screen. Position requires lifting, transferring, and the ability to provide direct care and implement proper restraint techniques to ensure persons served health and safety. 2 wks. paid specialized training (Held M-F 8:30 am 5:00 pm), competitive benefits & tuition reimbursement offered.
